Head of Acquisitions
David Kingsdale is Head of Acquisitions for Acceleration. He is responsible for identifying acquisition candidates and leading due diligence and negotiations for acquisitions and new strategic investments.
Kingsdale is an executive, entrepreneur, and attorney who has built and led multiple organizations. His 30 years of experience include operating and leadership roles across media, entertainment, and consumer product companies. Prior to joining Acceleration, he was founder and Chairman of Millennium Dance Media, LLC where he leveraged his strategic experience in expanding the Millennium Dance Complex brand worldwide. He is the Chairman of the Independent Trustee Board for Aspiration.com, a leading online financial services company, in which he guides the corporate governance of the firm. From 2005-2018 David operated DLK, Inc., an investment and advisory firm focused on working with early stage companies.
His prior roles include serving as Managing Director of Del Rey Management, a Los Angeles-based equity hedge fund; Co-Founder and CEO of Going the Distance, LLC, where he led the acquisition of the Los Angeles Marathon; and President of Awesome Toys, a Chicago-based toy company with worldwide distribution in big box retailers. David also spent five years as President, Entertainment at Premier Retail Networks (“PRN”), one of the nation’s largest out-of-home media networks. PRN was sold to Thomson S.A. for $285 million.
David’s media career began as founder and CEO of Stopwatch Entertainment Network, the first location-based out-of-home media company in the United States that converted the television departments of the nation’s largest consumer electronic stores into a national entertainment and advertising network.
He regularly volunteers at UCLA Mattel Children’s Hospital. David lives in Los Angeles with his wife and has two children ages 20 and 17.
